The man most directly responsible for this twaddle was Michel Bijlsma, who did

Im still scratching my head as to why you wont generate a market for your
extension by not releasing a compiled demo at least, showing off some of
its headers. Hmm, I guess you *dont* want a huge list of pre orders queuing
up for when it goes on general release.
I guess if it doesnt compile, I cant release anything to anyone anyhow. Who
else is on the tester list, so I can at least send code to them?
